Where a New Player Can Begin
Brand-new players should start with Intro to Pickleball at The Dink Yard in nearby Niles. The facility maintains a current introductory clinic in its booking system and also offers novice open play for players in the 2.0 to 2.99 range. That gives a beginner a direct path from learning the game into playing with people at a similar level. See current Intro to Pickleball and novice sessions.

Open play uses organized rotations rather than requiring every participant to arrive with a foursome. The facility also runs clinics, leagues, tournaments, and other events throughout the year.
Willow Park remains the center of outdoor pickleball in Cortland. Its four courts are available for recreational play, though there is no city-published recurring open play block that guarantees organized games at a particular time.
